THE FACTS

There are many reasons why someone might want Doug Ford to resign, and many of them are listed here!

We’ve tried to curate as many of the issues that hit close to home on this page. Each point will have a link below to aid in your research and to expand on the paragraph provided.

The more knowledgeable you become about a subject, the less anxiety you will feel if someone comes up to you asking to learn more.

One of the goals of protesting is to share knowledge and facts. Many people simply may not know what is going on politically, and if someone asks, we need to respectfully tell them what information they’ve been missing.

Doug Ford and his government continue to pump out something new (what feels like every day), and we need to stand together and stay tuned to what is happening in our province.

Join us on the last Saturday of every month for a province-wide protest!

Can’t attend a protest? No problem!

Every action, small or large, helps to keep government officials accountable.

~ The Controversies Have to END ~

ONTARIO PLACE DEVELOPMENT

The Ford government often bypasses the municipal level to move forward with projects it deems more beneficial to the public. There is currently a legal battle moving to the Supreme Court regarding the Ontario Place redevelopment.

WASTING PUBLIC TAXPAYER FUNDS

The Ford Government paid out 225 million to end an exclusive agreement with the Beer Store early. This has caused at least 120 Beer Store locations to close. This removed convenient beer can recycling for communities and caused significant job losses.

NO AFFORDABLE HIGHER EDUCATION

Not only is the Ford Government taking away an essential lifeline for students (OSAP), but the freeze to protect tuition from rising has also been eliminated.

NIAGARA GOVERNANCE

The Ford Government is proposing new legislation to cut the Niagara council from 32 members down to 13. This is another example of Doug Ford taking away local democracy.

ONTARIO HEALTHCARE

From a lack of healthcare workers to not enough hospital beds, our public healthcare system is breaking down at an alarming rate. More public funding could reduce ER wait times, provide better wages for nurses and personal support workers, etc…

ENVIROMENTAL PROTECTION

The Greenbelt scandal has been a rallying point for protesters, with Green Party MP Elizabeth May warning that Ford’s government is a threat to wildlands and protected lands.

BILL 124

Additionally, Bill 124 had a cap on salary increases for the broader public-sector workers. This unconstitutional bill, concluded by the courts in two separate legal cases, has cost taxpayers 4.3 million in legal fees.

BILL 5

BILL 5 represents a sweeping rollback of protections that Ontarians rely on. It weakens environmental safeguards, fast-tracks mining and development projects with reduced oversight, and limits meaningful consultation with Indigenous communities—undermining their rights and sovereignty.

This legislation prioritizes corporate interests over people, land, and water. It puts ecosystems at risk, sidelines First Nations voices, and opens the door to unsafe and unaccountable development practices.

Ontarians deserve laws that protect communities, respect Indigenous rights, and uphold strong environmental and labour standards—not legislation that strips them away.

A FAN OF DONALD TRUMP

Before the tariff threats; Doug Ford was very happy that Donald Trump had been re-elected as the president of the United States.

Knowing this, that must mean he had no problem with anything that Trump had done up to that point, and every crime that was committed during the president’s first term from 2016-2020.

Speaking of Donald Trump…

There has been a lot of anger directed towards the American president since his election. Every once in a while, our premier stands up on stage and ‘protects us‘, namely during his re-election, and whenever he needs help to boost his numbers.

As of July 2026; Doug Ford is going on the offensive again, around the same time he’s getting a significant amount of backlash for a variety of reasons. He wants to make his poll numbers better and instead of fixing problems being called out or doing the right thing by resigning, he plays “Captain Canada” in the hopes it will garner favor with the masses.

We must REMEMBER all of the things he has done to the province.

Here are some uncanny resemblances to Donald Trump.

Transparency

Doug Ford is trying to take away the public’s ability to use the Freedom of Information Act. This would keep the premier and his cabinet’s actions hidden.

Donald Trump has been blatantly disregarding transparency laws for years, the biggest example being the Epstein Files.

Student Funding

Doug Ford has announced that OSAP‘s original funding structure of 85% grants and 15% loans will now be 25% grants and 75% loans. Taking away the essential funding students need and piling them with more lifelong debt in a terrible job market.

Donald Trump has significantly cut higher education grants

Healthcare Funding

Doug Ford has been chronically underfunding public healthcare for years, while our tax dollars go to a privatized system that we have to pay for.

Donald Trump has made significant cuts to the American healthcare system.

Democracy

Doug Ford is tabling legislation that the people do not agree with and that hurts Ontarians. He’s making so many changes within a short time and against the wishes of the people that it quietly erodes democracy.

Transparency keeps politicians accountable for their actions. If the Ford Government manages to exempt itself from basic transparency laws, then what is there to stop it from doing more behind our backs?

Denying Public Opinion

Doug Ford used a very common tactic in June 2026, from the Donald Trump‘s own tool box … and that’s calling polls ‘fake’ when they no longer favor him.

As of this news article, Angus Reid, a highly respected polling establishment, has data showing his percentage at 21%. Additionally, he was declared the lowest rated premier amongst 8 provinces.

PEI was not included due to it’s small population.

Pretender Populists

Like any politician, Doug Ford has made many promises on the campaign trail. Ever since his election in 2018, he’s been breaking them one-by-one. Affordable housing, cutting hospital wait times, and lower-cost electricity are just a few of them.

Donald Trump doesn’t shy away from making outlandish promises and has no shame in breaking any of them either.
